Does Onewheel GT Come With A Charger?
Three types of Onewheel chargers are available: Charger, Battery pack, and Inverter. The charger provides power for the Onewheel GT and battery pack, so you could say it is a single unit you put together by charging them together.
The inverter converts household AC to DC so that you can use them in conjunction with each other with no problem.
Yes! Both Onewheel+XR and Onewheel Pint come in stock with chargers. Any new Onewheel will come with a charger, as well. Onewheel GT is a hard-shelled version of the Onewheel+ and does not come with a charger.
It might have taken months for Tesla to build their charging infrastructure, but when it comes to integrating your EV into your life, nothing beats the simplicity of plug-and-play.
All new Onewheels have chargers that plug into any standard 120V outlet.
To use the chargers, you’ll need to plug your Onewheel into the wall socket and install the included garage charger adapter. Safely, of course. I recommend not leaving your Onewheel plugged up all day to prevent overheating.
Your Onewheel will automatically shut down when fully charged to protect against overcharging and extend battery life.
The Onewheel will charge itself while you plug it in. Even if you unplug the Onewheel while charging, it will keep charging to prevent damage to the unit.
Once your Onewheel is charged, plug in the garage charger adapter and put your Onewheel into its charging port. You can even take the garage charger unit with you when you travel!
Please remember to use a certified 120V circuit for charging.
Before considering a DIY solution like this, you should double-check that your local community supports 120V power at your home.
You can test the power at 120V using the Onewheel while plugged into a car charger or with the included AC wall plug.

How Do You Charge a Onewheel GT?
First, Connect the charger to an “AC” outlet. The charger plugs into the wall through a USB port, so you can plug it into any outlet. Make sure the charger is on the ground where there are no obstructions in front of it before you plug anything in.
Second, press the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn on your Onewheel® GT. If your board is turned on, press and hold the power button for another 3-5 seconds to turn off your board before connecting it to charge.
Third, wait until the power button’s LED lights are steady to know if your board is fully charged. If the LED is not steady, you can press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn it off.
Fourth, unplug the charger from the outlet by pressing and holding the power button for 3-5 seconds to shut it off if you have a device that has an on and off switch.

These may include your phone or laptop, press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn it off and then unplug it.
Fifth, to use your Onewheel GT safely and effectively, wear helmets that fit properly on your head. The cushions in the helmet should engage with your scalp to properly support your head.
Thicker foam will help cushion impacts from riding over rough surfaces or bumps you might encounter on the road.
Is Onewheel GT Waterproof?
No! Onewheel GT boasts water resistance; Thus not waterproof. If you ride in rainy conditions, water will drip down the body of your Onewheel and onto the ground. Be sure to avoid wet surfaces and watch out for puddles.
Take care when riding around puddles and wet surfaces because, as always, it is wise to allow yourself some time so that you don’t get caught off guard by water seeping through the sealant of your Onewheel GT.
The other mode that Onewheel is in (when you turn the device on) is somewhat water resistant. You may ride in mild rain without being affected by it. However, we still do not recommend submerging your Onewheel into water.
Onewheel GT is not a waterproof product.
- No rain can penetrate it.
- It is waterproof and floats on water.
- The sealant stays strong in the Onewheel to prevent water from seeping into the body of the device.
- You can ride in wet conditions so long as you take care not to get caught off guard by puddles and other slight drizzles.
- The underside of the Onewheel is waterproof and houses a few components that need to stay dry. Generally, riding in the rain is fine, and you risk no damage to your Onewheel.
How Fast Does a Onewheel GT Go?
Onewheel boasts 20 miles per hour (32 km/h) and a range of 20-32 miles (32-52 km) top speed depending on rider weight and terrain.
Like an upright bike, a Onewheel GT starts to lose power as the rider gains speed, so riders usually cruise between 10-15 mph (16-24 kph) in urban areas.
If you want to start, you should try to stay within your comfort zone, which is about 5-10 miles per hour (8-16 km/h). You can also practice in more open spaces before reaching higher speeds.
As you get a feel for how your board handles at high speeds, you can also try carving and riding in freeride mode.
Just check the laws on speed limits in your local area before speeding down hills or freeriding down the street in urban areas.
You also need to be careful in traffic because you are 100% responsible for what happens to you and your board, even if no one else is there.
The faster you ride, the more often you should practice. Riding a week thrice is important if you want to maintain your skills.

On the Onewheel, riders are limited only by their imagination, as there is no speed limit. So, it’s up to each rider how fast they want to go.
But as with any sport, you must know that fast and hard is not always safe. Be safe, ride smart and have fun.
Is Onewheel GT Charger The Same As XR?
No! Onewheel XR charger is specifically designed for the Onewheel XR and will not fit other models. The chargers are different, with XRs requiring a specific one instead of all plugging into a single universal charger type.
It depends on which board you have and what your warranty is.
Using a Onewheel XR charger with the wrong board can lock you out of the system, requiring you to get it unglued, which is no small job if you tear off the whole front section.
That’s a job not many providers are willing to do. It’s also possible that if you use a bunch of shared batteries, there will be a corrosion issue that won’t fully discharge and short out the battery.
Onewheel will then not power on at all. The battery eventually degrades further, then starts to leak out of the cells, and at that point, you need a pack of new batteries.
What the warranty covers then depends on how long it took for you to learn these lessons.
There are two chargers, both labelled “Onewheel.” The one with a little open padlock icon (lower right) is an XR charger. It doesn’t work with any other board. If you have an XR and it looks like the left one, that’s the charger you want.
What Charger Comes With The Onewheel XR?
An XR home Charger comes with the purchase of an Onewheel+ XR. You can also purchase a Wall Charger separately, which plugs into an electrical outlet and gives you the exact charging times as the XR Home Charger.
Look in the box if you can’t find your Onewheel Home Charger. A white AC adapter plugs into an outlet and connects to the Onewheel+ XR with a micro USB cable.
To charge your board, you can also use any standard micro USB cable with a 5V/1A output.
You can use standard micro USB cables to change your board on or off the deck. You can locate the charging port on the back of the left motor housing (when facing forward).
The Onewheel+ XR Home Charger is rated at 2.4A 2-4.4V output and has a button on the side for toggling 4S/2S charging.
To charge your board, plug the included USB cable into your computer or wall charger, and then plug the cable’s other end into the Onewheel+ XR’s charging port.
When you charge fully, the LED on the charger will illuminate. If it stays on once you plug in your Onewheel+ XR, it is charging; when fully charged, it lights up and turns off.
Will Charger Plugs Damage My Charge Port?
The only way that charger plugs can damage your charge port is if it is faulty or provides too much Voltage. The charge port voltage should be between 12v and 18v. Anything more than this damages your charge port.
Although you might not hear a beep when your charge port is damaged, the plug may disconnect without warning, and damage to other parts.
Charger plugs can also fry other electrical parts in your cars, such as the Radio and Climate Control Unit if they are not maintained correctly.
If you are worried about your charger plug, check with your local dealer to see if they will replace it on a warranty basis. If not, ask them to replace the part with a more reliable one.
If you are worried that your charger plugs are causing problems with your car, you should check them daily and clean them at least once a week.
This will keep dirt out of the connection and ensure your electrical system is working correctly. Also, it is important to replace bad charger plugs every 10-12 months to stay within the manufacturer’s suggested life cycles for their products.
We do not recommend using any auto parts store charger plugs, even the most expensive ones, because they are not made to the same quality and standards as factory-installed parts and can damage your electrical system.

Is The GT40 Water Resistant/Waterproof?
The GT40 is water resistant but not waterproof, meaning you should use caution when riding near water areas and keep it away from the heaviest rain.
When the GT40 Onewheel was set for design, engineers were tasked with designing a rugged, dependable ride that would stand up to anything.
This meant designing a skateboard-grade unibody made from aluminum and combining it with waterproof electronics to create a machine resistant to dirt, grime, snow, and water (up to 1/4″ without any protection added).
That means that you can take the GT40 Onewheel almost anywhere in the world, and no matter how hard the elements try to keep you from riding, your GT40 will stand up to the challenge.
While it’s completely waterproof, it’s water resistant and can resist getting destroyed by snow and rain. However, dust is an issue by itself. While the Onewheel can handle water splashes, you won’t want to ride this thing through a lake.
Here’s some good news. Your board will be fine after riding through light showers, puddles, and standing water. However, prolonged exposure to wet or humid conditions could compromise the electronics,
Conclusion
Onewheel GT40 is a medium-sized machine and balances slightly between the large and small Onewheel models. This board has 6.5″ inches of width and a 28″ wheelbase that should make it suitable for riders around 5′ 6″ or shorter.
