How Cold Is Too Cold For Onewheel?
You cannot ride your Onewheel in the extreme cold despite your best efforts to protect it. You must keep it at 60°F (15°C) or above to be safe to ride.
The battery will drain quickly as your Onewheel cools, and temperatures below 40°F (4°C) will freeze the battery and other electronic components.
Cold weather is a killer for all sorts of electronics. No matter how good you are with insulation, your Onewheel can’t function well enough when it’s cold outside.
It doesn’t matter how much you’ve spent on expensive gear; it only works when it’s dangerously cold.
So, leave your board at home when the temperatures dip below freezing, and don’t even try to ride at temperatures below 40°F (4°C).
A 40-degree temperature is an ideal level for your Onewheel to perform well. At 60 degrees or higher, you can safely ride your Onewheel anytime, whether it’s raining, snowing, or the sun is shining.
If you live in a climate that gets cold, you’ll need to ride your Onewheel a few degrees warmer.
Since your Onewheel will get colder during winter riding conditions, I recommend riding at 48 degrees or above as the ideal temperature for your Onewheel during the summer months.
Of course, if it’s raining or snowing, get out of the elements, no need to freeze in the rain or ride through the snow in below-zero temperatures.
How Do You Stop Onewheel’s Wobble?
|Take Breaks||When you feel Onewheel in your toes, get off and walk for a few seconds.|
When you must stop, lean back on your arms and lower them flat.
If you get up quickly when Onewheel is engaging traction, try turning it 180 degrees, so the front wheel is now facing forward.
Don’t move your feet or balance too much when visiting water or other slippery surfaces; this can cause wobble and instability.
